This game is going to be awesome. I am a beta tester, but I cannot post any videos or screenshots of the game due to the non-disclosure agreement I accepted. All I have to say is, this game is refreshingly unique. Most first person shooters these days are all essentially the same, but Shattered Horizon puts a new spin on the first person shooter- zero gravity. You fight it out on asteroids, ruined space stations, and similar places. It’s made by Futuremark, the people who make the 3DMark and PCMark benchmarking utilities. Check out the teaser trailer below, and be sure to pick it up when it’s released.

Well, my Sister has a videocamera that she got for Christmas and never uses. It’s a JVC Everio GZ-MG330AU. A few weeks ago Brad (Nododgy, he posts here…sometimes…=P) and I played paintball. I brought said camera, and he gave me an old half-broken tripod he no longer had any use for. It broke after it was used that Sunday, but I’ve since ordered a new one and it’s making me want to start getting more into video editing. So far all I’ve done with it is set it up and have whoever wasn’t playing record me and my friends playing, so the videos aren’t too good, nothing I can really use to make a mix or anything. I think I may try to go to a tournament in the near future and get some good footage I can use to play around with video editing. I doubt It’ll be as good as the great stuff PBCulture puts out, but it’s something to do. I’d also like to get into still photography as well, but I have way too many expensive hobbies as it is. Too much time and interest, and not enough money = the story of my life. My Vimeo account is http://vimeo.com/ericj/videos , you can go there to see me and Brad playing. (That’s me in the picture below, and to find Brad just look for a gold mask, red jersey, and grey pants.)

Oh! and please, sign this petition to keep a new paintball field in the area open. It looks to be a quality field, and I cannot wait to play there.

I’ve only been a member since August second. It’s kind of neat that I broke one thousand plays on September second. I love my music.

For those of you that don’t know, Last.fm keeps track of the songs you play via software on your computer. This software is called a Scrobbler. Last.fm has their own official scrobbler which can be downloaded here, which works with Winamp, Windows Media Player, and Itunes and last but definitely not least, my player of choice, Foobar2000. However, as opposed to using the official client and having more software running on my computer than needed, I use Florian’s Foobar2000 audioscrobbler component. It is a simple .dll file you drop into the components folder in your Foobar2000 directory, and then it simply adds the functionality to Foobar2000.

There are many components like this for Foobar2000. There is an Ipod manager component that allows you to add music to any Ipod. This eliminates having to have the Ipod synced with a single computer, which I have always found very annoying since I have quite a few machines between my Mom’s house and my Dad’s house. There is also the ASIO component, which is a must have for any user like me who owns a high quality sound card. ASIO stands for Audio Steam Input Ouput, which allows the application to output directly to your sound hardware, bypassing Windows software and reducing latency. Another amazing thing you can do with Foobar2000 is use Streamripper to record music from internet radio stations. There is a great guide on how to set up Foobar2000 to use Streamripper here.

Well, that was going to be a short post for my thousand plays on Last.fm, but it turned into quite a rant, haha.
